Amazing wagyu beef rice sets, one of the best I’ve has so far in Japan. We tried the more fatty versions and it was DELICIOUS. Apart from the beef, the sauce is also a highlight of the dish. Crazy flavours and complements the beef really well. Another side dish I loved was the pickled vegetables and it was great even for me a vegetable-hater 😭 So so good, I would definitely visit again. Also, would recommend coming before the restaurant opens. We arrived right on the dot and there was already a long queue. We had to wait for about 30-45minutes for the first batch of customers to finish. However, tables turn fast so waiting time may vary.

Good beef with a decent side dish. A bit pricy but you can for 120g but if you like beef its better to go for the large 160g. It open at 11:00am but people queue at abt 10:30am, So Come early 09:00 go to the bambo forest, finished at 10:30 and line up for a good meal. FYI a meal cost abt ¥3000-5400 perPax,

Probably the best meal I had in Japan during this trip! Got the Wagyu beef ribloin steak rice box with Yudofu and it was amazing! The beef was just melted in my mouth, the tofu was soft, creamy and silky! I still think about this meal all the time! The waiter and waitresses were very quick and friendly! They recommended me the Kyoto Ume Craft beer and it was very good! Will definitely come here again when I’m in Kyoto! Dining room is spacious and minimalist design! I did not have to wait when I was there for lunch as a solo dinner!

I think the food was great, especially the sirloin one (the one with more fat), cause the meat is tender. One thing I would complain about however is the meat portion, a bit too little for my liking (and if compares to the picture). But was the taste good and was the portion enough for me? Yes absolutely, but not sure if it would be enough for others. Anyways, nice garden as well.

Ordered the fatty ribloin without the tofu. IT WAS HEAVENLY!! It was so so delicious. I would strongly recommend the 160g cos the meat is just so good. The ambience is cosy. ONE KEY SUGGESTION: Take lunvh first before going to the bamboo forest because that would be the best way to avoid the massive queue.

I got to visit this place because I stayed for a week in Arashiyama. In fact, it turned out to be an incredible finding. I had the loin steak and my wife the sirloin. Both options are great and tofu I would definitely recommend - very fresh yet deep flavor. Given the price, the portion is not large, at least for me. But I would definitely recommend trying this place out. During the day, the restaurant gets very busy and may have to wait a little. If you plan to stay in Arashiyama for few days, I'd recommend visiting in the evening - less people.

Arrived at 2pm for a late lunch with a sign at the front that there would be about a 50 minute waiting time. There was only 3 groups of 2 people waiting in front of us and we were in within 15 mins. Ordered the 100g wagyu beef round steak rice box with tofu and the wagyu beef ribloin steak rice box with tofu. The ribloin was a lot softer and juicier because of the fat however if you prefer a less fatty meat then choose the round steak. The tofu was also very silky and complimented the dish very well. I also got the yuzu drink which the server said was a signature in Kyoto - highly recommend!

This was absolutely delicious! Beautiful garden backdrop and a lovely ambience. Recommend to book as it can get busy. The meat was phenomenal and side dishes worked very well. Can try different styles of beef. Highly, highly recommend to dine here! Especially if your visiting the bamboo forest.
